What's happened to "refinement"?

I shopped for my clients last week in Las Vegas. Once again I was astounded at the way people generally look. Not only weight issues ...but the slovenliness, gaudiness and unbelievable bad taste that abounds.
LV is generally a pretty good place to shop....but you need to be extremely selective if "refinement" is still in your vocabulary.
That goes for not only in LV, but all over the country there are gobs of "bling" oriented clothes that make most people look inordinately cheap and over-exposed.To spot a tastefully dressed person (I'm not even talking of the really well-dressed variety...but merely decent...) is a tough call.
